In fact I voted for him when he ran on the ticket with Al Gore. But Lieberman made a tactical decision to support Bush's war in Iraq and he is now paying the price for it. Watching the debate it was easy to tell who the seasoned politician was. Ned Lamont did indeed have the look and feel of a amateur. However Lieberman's continued support of the war in Iraq is nothing short of treasonous to the Democratic party. As long as Joe Lieberman remains the democratic senator from Conneticut the Republicans will always be able to point to him as the so-called voice of reason within the Democratic party. He , along with Senator Hillary Clinton , allows the Republicans to give this unpopular war at least the appearance of bi-partisan support. This is why the Republicans love him. They need Lieberman. Without Lieberman, Clinton and others like Ben Nelson , the Republicans will be forced to bear the responsibility and the blame for this war themselves as they should . This enrages the many voters who hate this war. Lieberman cannot seem to understand this. He and his good friend John McCain can bitch and moan all they want about the lack of " civility" in politics these days , but the fact remains that there is no place for " civility " when 2,500 plus of our troops have died in this farce. For him to continue to support this war even in the face of what looks like a civil war in the making is not principled , as he repeatedly argues, its preposterous. It shows an inability to admit that he was and continues to be wrong about this. Any Democrat who still thinks going to war in Iraq was a good idea will not get my vote. And that includes Senator Clinton. For Clinton and others like her supporting the war is a tactical decision. The idea is to stick close to the Republicans positions so they cannot criticize you for being a weak-willed Democrat who doesn't have the will to support the War on Terror. But tactical decisions is not what this country needs today. We need leadership. Part of being a leader is being able to admit mistakes and change course. Leadership is about courage , and that's a virtue Lieberman has shown little of in the last 5 years. For this alone he should be shown the door.

On Cancelling your AOL subscription

We interrupt our political commentary to bring you a few words about cancelling AOL. I in fact use to work for America Online in the saves department. I worked there for 3 years from October of 2002 until my call center was closed and i was laid off in October of 2005. In the saves department your job basically is to keep AOL customers from cancelling at any and all costs. That means you are required to do your level best to keep every single person who calls in to cancel no matter what even if that person no longer has a computer, doesn't use AOL at all or even if they upgrade to high speed. No matter what your job is to save them. Up until Elliot Spitzer's lawsuit against AOL the rule was if you did not save at least 49% of your callers you did not get paid a bonus. That could mean literally thousands of dollars. Not only that you're subject to repeated " coaching sessions" meaning that your supervisor listens to your calls with you to try to get you to be more assertive in your sales pitch. If you continue to perform under the quota you could even lost your job ! As a result of the lawsuit AOL agreed to make certain changes in the pay structure including removing the 49% gate and paying consultants more per hour to make up the bonus loss. But the employees at the Orlando site and the Jacksonville site were laid off before these changes took place because they didn't want to pay us. The point of this post is that its not the employees fault, they're simply doing what they are trained to do and held accountable financially for not doing. AOL could very easily add a button online where customers could cancel their accounts without going through the saves process but they choose not to because they know many people would skip the sales pitches altogether. But from an insider here are some tips to take with you if you want to cancel your account. Don't give the consultant any information say as little as possible they will ask questions about what you use the service for and how often you use it this is designed to give the consultant information they can use in their sales pitch . Simply say i want to cancel my account and stick to it. Don't back down ; many consultants use intimidation tactics they figure if they keep repeating their pitch eventually you will get tired of hearing it and agree to keep the service. Don't accept free months ; as a last result consultants are trained to offer 1 to 2 months of free service to keep you as a customer don't accept them they will simply prolong the process for another month or two. Finally if you do manage to cancel it make sure you follow up and make sure its cancelled. You should recieve a letter in the mail a week or so after you cancell confirming that its cancelled. If you don't recieve one call AOL again , consultants will often flat out not cancel the account because they don't want to mess up their percentages. Good luck

FREE hit counter and Internet traffic statistics from freestats.com

Covering your tracks : The Speaker at War with Justice.

You gotta admire the guts of Dennis Hastert. After years of laying down and allowing the executive branch to run roughshod over the constitutional rights of everyday people , he finally has a hissyfit when it comes to protecting members of congress. The fact that the member in question William Jefferson is a democrat makes it almost a principled stand. However a cynic like me might draw the conclusion that the Speaker's real intention is to protect his own party. In the months ahead there will be many investigations that just might hit a little closer to home for the Speaker. The Abramoff scandal threatens to embroiled dozens of lawmakers. The investigation into who leaked the N.S.A story has just begun. And the Duke Cunningham scandal is scraching the surface. If the FBI gets the notion that they can barge into member's office and uncover wrongdoing that makes 90,000 dollars in the freezer look like lunch money, the Republicans will surely be shaking in their loafers. Mr Jefferson at the very least should step down from the Ways and Means commitee until his name is cleared. Speaker Hastert it should be noted was accused over the weekend of being a player in the Abramoff scandal. Is that the real reason why he suddenly feels compelled to defend his turf ? Stay tuned.........

All hail King George : The Death Of Democracy

And so it begins. With the recent revelations about the extent of the spying being conducted by the N.S.A . on ordinary citizens, this country has been place on a collusion course with destiny. The future of this country will be driven in large part by the answer to this question : Will we allow George Bush to govern like a dictator , or will we rise to the occasion and fight the battle that needs to be fought today. George Bush has finally, mercifully gone too far. If there were ever a poster child for a leader in need of serious oversight it is George W. Bush. Virtually ever single pronoucement that this man has uttered in his last four years has turned out to be not true. A brief rundown for those of us with short memories. He said he'd get Osama Bin Laden " Dead or alive " . He said there were Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. He said the Battle of Iraq was " Mission Accomplished." He said no one in his administration was involved in leaking Valarie Plame's name. Every single of of these declarations turned out to be utterly false. But somehow we're supposed to believe that they have nothing but good intentions when they collect every single phone call made by every single person in the United States. This after declaring that warrantless spying was only done to " person communicating to members of Al-Queda. Who do these people think they are ? Who do these people think we are ? They actually believe that this issue will benefit them because they can protrey critics as " weak on terrorism". This from the same folks who couldn't even protect us from a hurricane they knew was comin a week in advance. What remains to be seen is , are they right ? Are Americans so afraid of terrorists that they will look the other way when Big Brother listens in. Does anyone even care that we don't live in a democracy any more. Are there any patriots left who'll defend the constitution that has made us the greatest country in the known world. Will we swallow lie after lie because we're so busy shopping ? The answer to these questions will determine the future course of this nation. It was Ben Franklin who said " Those of would sacrifice liberty for a little safety deserve neither freedom nor safety." Im sure right now, he turns in his grave.

Wheels falling off.

31% approval ? Pitt does a good job explaining why. This is the money quote.

" Why the anger? It can be summed up in one run-on sentence: We have lost two towers in New York, a part of the Pentagon, an important American city called New Orleans, our economic solvency, our global reputation, our moral authority, our children's future, we have lost tens of thousands of American soldiers to death and grievous injury, we must endure the Abramoffs and the Cunninghams and the Libbys and the whores and the bribes and the utter corruption, we must contemplate the staggering depth of the hole we have been hurled down into, and we expect little to no help from the mainstream DC press, whose lazy go-along-to-get-along cocktail-circuit mentality allowed so much of this to happen because they failed comprehensively to do their job.
George W. Bush and his pals used September 11th against the American people, used perhaps the most horrific day in our collective history, deliberately and with intent, to foster a war of choice that has killed untold tens of thousands of human beings and basically bankrupted our country. They lied about the threat posed by Iraq. They destroyed the career of a CIA agent who was tasked to keep an eye on Iran's nuclear ambitions, and did so to exact petty political revenge against a critic. They tortured people, and spied on American civilians.
You cannot fathom anger arising from this? Why Micheal Hayden is a terrible choice to lead the CIA

Once again the Bush administration is making decisions based on world they live in, rather than the reality on the ground. In their mind General Hayden is a great choice because he can't be questioned on his credentials ( unlike say, Mike Brown ) and he isn't seen as a political hack ( Unlike Porter Goss ) . Also the administration believes that the domestic spying program, which General Hayden oversaw at the NSA, won't be an issue because the public for the most part agrees with them on that issue. The reality is that most people aren't up in arms about the domestic spying because they don't really know much about it, and to the extent that they do they are misinformed by three critical lies. One : the program is limited and targeted to only suspected terrorists. Two : the program is effective in catching terrorists. Three : the program is legal. First of all there have been reports that as many as 500 Americans a day are having their telephone calls, their emails and their online communications intercepted by the NSA. 500 Americans a day for three years ? Thats about half a million American citizens hardly " limited and targeted. " Second , the Admistration insists on making the point that the program has led to great success in capturing suspected terrorists . A report a few months back in the New York times said that most of the intercepts have turned out to be false leads taking up valuble time that could be spent on real threats to the nation. Finally the 4th amendment to the constitution guantees that all americans have protection against illegal searches and seizures. Also a law was passed in 1979 called the F.I.S.A statute that governs the conduct of the executive as it relates to information gathering on citizens. In other words there is a law that covers specifically warrantless wiretaps that the President has basically decided to ignore so claims that the program is legal are simply laughable . Any confirmation hearing on Micheal Hayden is sure to focus on just these issues. Besides that Hayden is a military officer who will be in charge of what is supposed to be a civilian agency. Will Donald Rumsfeld be his counterpart , or his boss ? These questions could very well doom the nomination before hearings even start. General Hayden had better be ready.

<link rel='related' href='http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/cia_future;_ylt=AhTz1FdPXX_gPX9WSUnk7I6s0NUE' title='Doomed. With that in mind i'd like to offer a solution to the gas crisis. Whats needed is leadership and bold thinking. First , everyone needs to realize that on some level the oil companies are right , the price of gas is dictated by supply and demand . There is very little that can be done to increase the supply of oil , this is a problem that has to be addressed from the demand side. In other words we have to reduce consumption in a way that works in concert with market forces as opposed to dictating market forces. We need to start by seriously funding the creation , the marketing and the distribution of affordable alternative energy. I propose to create the funding by rolling back the tax cuts of the top 1% of income earners in America. This will generated billions of dollars to start. The income generated should be used to first require that all vehicles in the federal government with special exceptions by hybrid cars or some sort of alternative energy source by 2008 . The money should also be use to fund the transition of state governments. Requiring all goverment cars and trucks to be hybrids would save millions of gallons a year. It would also set a strong example to consumers that hybrids are safe and reliable cars while having an effect on prices at the pump. In addition I propose that a tax credit be given to every consumer who purchases hybrid car equal to the difference in price from a similar gas powered make and model. In other words if a hybrid car is 2000 dollars more than the same standard car, a 2000 tax credit should be given. This will equal a win win for the market and the consumer. The consumer gets much better gas mileage without punishing the market for selling hybrids. At the same time funding should go towards developing hydrogen cars and other alternatives. The administration to its credit has commited to spending millions of dollars on other energy sources but they could be doing much more. With a massive effort employing all the resources of the Greatest country in the world we could be totally energy independent in 10 years. This means less global warming , less dependence on unstable regions of the world for energy supplies , and more money going into the economy from consumers who save billions by not spending so much on just getting around. Its time for a change. But will we be shocked into action by sudden 5 dollars a gallon gas or will we take control of the future and transform this country on our own terms. Sadly with Mr. Oil Man himself still with us for 1000 more days, it may be too late by the time real leadership is in place.

Porter Goss Resigns

This is breaking news from the brokenglassdemocrat. Goss's number three man Kyle "Dusty" Foggo has already been fingered as having been at these parties. If Goss is involved we could be looking at the first sex scandal of the Bush administration. Bush, Cheney and the Republican Party have enabled a crime of historic proportions . Here's how it went down. In 2001 Dick Cheney held a series of meetings with executives from the Oil industry. These meetings were secret, in fact they were so secret that Cheney actually fought all the way to the supreme court a lawsuit filed by environmental groups seeking info and prevailed with the help of his hunting buddy Justice Scalia. In other words, no one knows what was said in those meetings . Not Congress , not the media and surely not the public. Nobody knows what kind of promises were made. Nobody knows what assurances these executives were given by Cheney who along with Bush have always been well known to be oil men. Now consider these facts. Exxon Mobile posted a PROFIT last year of 36 Billion. Also consider that since Bush has been in office they contributed some 35 million dollars to politicians , 82% of which went to the Republican party. In other words they invested 35 million got back 36 billion and that's just in ONE YEAR. Exxon Mobil's CEO recently retired and took home a retirement package of over 400 Million . Needless to say this is one area of Bush's Presidency that has been a resounding success at least if you happen be in the energy business. As for the rest of us, get used to it. Even with the President's recent so called interest in reducing prices, chances are the situation will get a lot worse before it gets better. There is a reason for this. If Bush and Cheney have nothing to hide and cannot be linked to the current gas shortage, they should not have any reason to withhold information about interactions they had with top executives in coming up with their energy policy. Surely they would not go so far as to fight it in the Supreme Court. There is a document out there that will spill the beans at some point and tell us precisely what occurred . Bush better hope he's long gone before the people see how he enabled us to be literally robbed blind. Especially considering that most of the people (33 % approval rate ) don't like him anyway.

Fall from grace, Why Bush is doomed.

George Bush is in trouble. He is in a position that may seal his fate as the worst President in history. His decline will be so swift, so complete many will wonder just how such a man managed to become leader of the greatest country in the world. He will leave office a defeated and broken man. Here's why. Right now if you study the national polls Bush is polling somewhere between 33 and 38 percent. That indicates that right now he has clearly managed to alienate well over 60 percent of the country. Polls in the 30s mean that the President is down to his hard core base the true believers. These are people who support Bush because they believe he is a moral man a Christian man. These are people with unwavering belief and confidence in the President. Indeed they attack the very notion that their leader George W. could be wrong about anything at all. It is they who will be the most disappointed when it all goes down. Very soon a series of events are going to occur that are going to expose his administration as the most venal and corrupt ever to call the shots. It will start very slowly. First former white house aide Claude Allen will plead guilty to theft charges relating to stealing out of Target Stores. Then things will get a bit more interesting. Former Federal Procurement office head David Safavian will also plead guilty to charges involved in the Abramoff scandal. This will show proof that Jack Abramoff had access to the highest levels of the White House and will place the administration smack in the middle of the biggest corruption scandal in decades. Then the bombshell. Karl Rove will be indicted in the CIA leak investigation. Rove's indictment will set off shockwaves for several reasons. First Rove remains the preeminent Republican political strategist alive, having him under indictment will surely limit the amount of influence he will have in the upcoming election. Second , if Rove is indicted that means its possible that many people at the highest levels off the white house possibly even the President himself may be called to testify at trial. Also it will augment the perception that this administration is corrupt, criminal even. The stain of corruption would be a deathnell to a President who depends on his image as a supposedly moral man for his sole base of support . If Christian Conservatives come to see Bush for what he is, that is the head of a government where more people get arrested than get fired , he stands to lose them. Once he loses their support, Who's left ?

An Open Letter to General Colin Powell

Although you were they only person in the administration who challenged the neocons in the march to the war, the fact remains that your reputation has been damaged beyond repair by your presentation to the U.N. before the war. Because you failed in your effort to slow the march to war. Because you , being the good soldier you have always been, saluted the commander and fell in line . Troops have died. Good men have lost their lives in a war that didn't have to happen. Nothing can be done to undo that fact. But you alone are in a position to insure that it never happens again. Six of your former collegues have spoken out against your chief antagonist, Donald Rumsfeld. All of them bring their own stars and credibility to the table . But you alone know the truth. You alone were in a position to see who told the lies, who covered it up and who buried the bodies. Your military experience gives you the credibility to speak about the ill conceived war plan. Your experience as the nation's top diplomat gives you the chops to speak about the administration's " cowboy diplomacy." Most of all you were there. You were in the briefings. You saw the plans. You knew the score. Sometimes even good soldiers need to speak up. Its time for you to be heard. Don't go quietly into the night while good men die. Don't allow war crimes to be commited in the name of the country you love. Reclaim your greatness. Reclaim your reputation as a moderate , pragmatic voice of reason. Publicly and boldly denouce the presentation that the world has come to be see as totally bogus. Demand the truth be told about this war where so many have suffered. Never let it be said in this day or any other that General Colin Powell was silent in the face of tyranny. The troops need you, the world needs you but most of all this country urgently needs to hear your voice. Its time general, greatness awaits you.

THE BLUEPRINT : HOW DEMOCRATS CAN RETAKE AMERICA. First and foremost the Democrats need to change the 2006 campaign theme to " Our Commitment to Our Country . " The Democrats need to lay our the changes they are committed to making to the country in a simple four point platform and draw clear distinctions with the Republican party. We will end the culture of corruption. We will rebuild the gulf coast. We will end the war in Iraq. We will demand answers. The Republicans stand Tom Delay and Jack Abramoff. We stand for real comprehensive lobbying reform that includes earmark reform. The Republicans stand for Micheal Chercoff and fumbling FEMA. We stand for a united effort to rebuild the gulf coast including building levees that can withstand a category 5 storm. The Republicans stand for more of the same in Iraq. We stand for redeploying our troops and getting them out of the civil war in that country. The Republicans shun the really hard questions. We demand answers. We will fight to get to the bottom of how Valerie Plame's career was destroyed by the White House. We will demand answers about the way intelligence was used by the White House to go to war. We will challenge this President's commitment to making sure that no person is ever tortured by U.S. personnel. We will demand to know the fate of Usama Bin Laden. We will hold administration officials to account for statements they have made that ended up being misleading , misinformed and sometimes outright lies. The Democrats must abandon the notion that its somehow poor form to fight for what you believe, to call a lie a lie and to confront a regime that depends on the weakness of others to advance their agenda. The Republicans have had their moment. We have seen what they can do. Together we can do better. The Fate of the Republic depends on it.

The smoking gun?http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/article342859.ece
It doesn't happen often. But every now and then the brokenglass democrat comes across something that makes me go WOW! The five years of Bush's presidency have made most political watchers feel like they have seen it all, but if this is true Bush has once again exceeded our wildest imagination. The President of the United States actually endorsing a plot to trick the world into supporting a war. A war that now has now been proven to have been based on false pretenses. If this is true then it means that the same people who now claim to have resorted to war as a last result were actively trying to seek ways to put U.S. troops in danger for their own agenda. This report destroys even the last thread of credibility the president and his administration clings to for dear life. This shows that nothing is out of bounds with these people. A President who lies his way into war is capable of anything. He's capable of trying to ruin the economy with tax cuts so he'll have an excuse to kill entitlement programs like social security and medicaid. He's capable of allowing a great american city to drown because its the last bashion of democratic support in rural Louisiana. He's capable of using the NSA spying technology to spy on innocent Americans in clear violation of the law. Congress should move swiftly to investigate this story.

Power corrupts , the end of the Republican Regime.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Republican party is imploding before our eyes because of pure , raw power. For the last 5 years particulary in the 4 years following 9-11 the Republicans have operated with essentially unlimited power. By virture of their control of the Presidency they drive the agenda and set the tone for the world's lone superpower. By virture of their hold on the House and Senate they control the legislative agenda and perhaps more importantly they have the power to start investigations and hearings that serve to keep the executive branch in check . As a result large scale failures such as 9-11 and the war in Iraq happen with no one held to account do to investigations that are white washed or not even started. More than that , people start believing that they can do anything without fear of punishment. Its that type of thinking that leads to brazen criminality witnessed in the sordid accounts of Duke Cunningham and Jake Abramoff. That type of thinking that led to Scooter Libby, Karl Rove and possibly others outing a career CIA officer and destroying her career. That mentality led the Bush team to give Dick Cheney's former company billions of dollars in a no bid contract in Iraq. Lack of oversight and fear of punishment led Bush to stay on vacation for 2 days while New Orleans drowned. Despite this the Republicans want even MORE power. They threaten to eliminate the filibuster rather than accept defeat in their quest to dominate the only branch of government they currently do not control, the courts. Bush goes above the law and totally disregards the F.I.S.A statute because his adminstration believes in the unitary executive theory which holds that in a time of war the President is essentially beyond the law. Their success depends on their power. Their ultimate failure will be as a result of that same unchecked power.
Mark it down. Democrats will retain control of at least one house of congress this year. Once that happens they will start the long overdue process of giving a close examination to questions that for two long have been ignored. For example, what exactly was Dick Cheney's role in the outing of the agent Valerie Plame? How is it that the United States got it so wrong with regards to not only weapons of mass destruction but also the total lack of anticipation of the insurgency. How is it that the world's greatest military cannot locate one man Osama Bin Laden. Finally what did the President know and when did he know about Jack Abramoff. Fair questions that will never be asked in todays political climate. Sooner or later that will change

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/17/politics/17spy.html?ei=5094.
I don't think most people Democrat or Republican appreciate the depth of trouble Bush has placed himself in by admiting his DIRECT involvement in the NSA spying program. Bush has essentially admitted to committing a crime that can and will very soon be proven to have effected ordinary citizens. Put aside a second the question of whether what Bush did is right or wrong. The fact still remains that Bush clearly violated the statutue as laid out in the F.I.S.A law. Furthermore they have commited this violation of the law for reasons that do not meshed with conventional reasoning. The Bush administration argues that they did not follow the law because of the pressing need for urgent information following the Sept 11th attacks. However the F.I.S.A statue allows for such wiretapping to be conducted WITHOUT a warrant so long as the government applies for one within 72 hours. In other words they broke the law even though according to their argument they did not need to . Which begs the question, Why did they ? What if the information the Bush administration was getting from the N.S.A. was so thin and unreliable that they knew no court would ever issue a warrant for it ? What if the N.S.A interceptors were allowed to eavesdrop on communications totally related to terrorists but totally unrelated to commiting terrorist acts. For example. A lawyer who represents a client being accused of plotting an attack in this country calls the client's mother in saudi arabia to discuss his client's case. Under the executive order that Bush signed the N.S.A could intercept his communications even though neither the lawyer or the mother was involved in planning attacks. Sound familar? Thats exactly what the Times reported.
Furthermore there's the matter of using this information in a legal court. How can information that was obtained illegally be used in a lawful proceding? By obtaining the information illegally Bush has effectively prevented that information from being used against an enemy of this country. In other words someone who wants to attack the United States could walk free because the information used to investigate them was obtained in a illegal way. In other words the program itself is a danger to national security because it could make it more difficult to put REAL terrorist in prison.

LIEBERMAN OUTHAWKS MCCAIN

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2005/12/07.html#a6220

Joe Lieberman is up to something. Why would a professed democrat suddenly express his undying support for the war in Iraq in the middle of a stated campaign by the administration to rebuild support with the public. Even assuming Mr. Lieberman is a honest man who's sincere in his belief why would he take the risk of supporting a war that most democrats detest and polls show most of the country now firmly opposes. My theory is this. I believe very soon Donald Rumsfeld will emerge as the fall guy for the failures of the war. History tells us it is near impossible to win back support for a war once the American people decide they've had enough. Bush will pull out and Rumsfeld will fall on his sword and ride into the sunset swearing revenge. At that point Bush will throw the democrats a bone to keep the hounds off him. Bush will nominate Lieberman for secretary of defense.
Lieberman calculates that being named secretary of defense by a republican president will give him credibility on defense matters unmatched by any potential rivals for president in 08. Aside from that, Saddam's fall wasn't exactly bad news for the state of Isreal and Senator Lieberman is first and perhaps formost a Jew.

buy poker chips

http://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/2005/US/12/04/911.commission/t1.wtc.file.cnn.jpg
4 Years later the usa is still not prepared for a terrorist attack? A plan
Hurricance Katrina was a disaster that effected all Americans. As such it will take a commitment from all of us to rebuild our gulf coast stronger than ever. My idea is to rebuild the gulf coast by creating a new national diaster respose apparatus modeled after the national guard but staffed by civilians. A domestic peace corps comprised of the best firemen, policemen, nurses, garbegemen, bus drivers etc ready to be mobilized at a moments notice to assist in disaster areas. By joining all americans could earn money for college, citizenship if not a US citizen and new skills that could be used for career aspirations. I propose to finance my idea by rolling back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 10 % of taxpayers. Returning that tax braket to pre-bush levels is a sacrifice that im sure many of our fellow americans effected would gladly make for the security of knowing that any time disaster strikes a trained , capable force made up of Americans of all stripes stands ready to help.Rebuild the Gulf. " Iraq is a " Flawed policy wrapped in a lllusion." The time has come for the sake of working families all over America to leave Iraq. Some have argued that leaving Iraq would be a disaster for the USA. I say contining the war perpetuates continuing disaster. Some say we were mislead into this war. I say this is of little matter at this point. The important thing is that we face the reality that pressing issues at home make our presence in Iraq unsustainable. We are spending 1.5 billion dollars a week in Iraq. This sum would cover the cost of rebuilding New Orleans, could be used to ensure the solvency of social security for decades could insure that the social programs that benefit millions of Americans will continue to benefit our children and grandchildren. Every life lost and every dollar spent drains resources from working families everywhere. Its time for this to end

Traitor's go free, Why Karl Must GO
A strong argument for the removal of Karl Rove as deputy chief of staff could be made simply by studying Mr. Rove's political record. Mr. Rove's history is littered with the political graves of opponents who underestimated just how ruthless he is and just how far Mr. Rove is willing to go to advance the political agenda of George W. Bush. The Swift boat attacks on John Kerry. The hardball tactics deployed against John McCain in the 2000 primary. The current attacks on John Murtha. All bear the fingerprints of the cunning Mr. Rove. But in the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame Mr Rove has clearly gone too far. At the very least Mr Rove's security clearance should be revoked and he should no longer have access to classified material. Karl Rove at a minimum has demostrated a carelessness with national security matters or at worst made a choice to put good CIA agents and their contacts at risk. Stonewalling is not the answer. Because of their incompetence thousands of soldiers may not get access to health care they have literally fought for unless congress steps in to stop the bleeding.http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/06/30/congress.veterans.ap/index.html

Weapons of mass destruction? I am a 25 year old african american college drop out who's mad as hell. I am angry at the most incompetent, arrogant, secretive, self destructive administration in American History. I am angry about the way the President and his cronies have mismanaged the economy causing deficits as far as the eye can see. I am angry about the damage they have done to American Schools with the underfunded and badly managed "No Child Left Behind " programs. I am angry about the way they have ignored the health care of millions of uninsured Americans. But most of all I am angry about the way this administration has endangered the national security of this country by cynically abusing the goodwill the American People universally gave them after the tragic September 11th attacks and using it to justify a meaningless adventure against a toothless Saddam Hussein. This blog is dedicated to educating the public about the failures of this president. The principle argument of this blog is that every aspect of the President's job has been a mild to dismal failure. From health care to veteran's affairs to social security to education to war and peace this President has major problems across the board. The problem is that too often these blunders are seen as separate unrelated issues when in fact the President's troubles can be boiled down to key common traits: Inability to change course in the face of obvious disaster, commitment to ideology as opposed to pratical solutions, unwillingness to consider opinions from outside tight inner circle and a willingness to bend the rules to achieve their ends. This blog will provide credible facts to back up any opinions and will be fair to those who don't share these opinions provided that they are backed up with factual evidence as well.
